Introduction
If you’re creative, want to improve your artistic practice and enhance your technique in different artistic forms, this course is for you. Art and design feature in every aspect of our daily lives from the cereal box we grab every morning to the trainers you walk to college in – they’ve all been through an artistic process.
Studying Art and Design at A Level will give you an excellent grounding in drawing, painting, graphics, textiles, fashion, ceramics, sculpture and printing. You’ll also study the history of art, where you’ll discover more about the context of art through the ages and use your knowledge to inspire your own work. The course is a gateway to many exciting careers including graphic design, advertising, product development and roles within arts organisations. It could even be the start of a freelance career as an artist.
Studying AS in the first year and progressing to the full A Level in the second is a great way to study A Levels.
You will study this course alongside 2 or 3 other A Levels and you will be able to select your chosen subjects when you apply online.
