Through (1) online recorded lectures and live Zoom conferences, (2) reading and written reflection, along with (3) engagement with their teachers and cohort, students will gain understanding and skills for multifaith chaplaincy and the art of inclusive spiritual care across traditions. The Writing courses at King’s help students from all disciplines develop academic literacies, critical thinking skills, and their own distinct voices. First-year Writing courses (Writing 1020F/G or 1002F/G and 1022F/G) are a great starting point, no matter where your academic journey takes you. In your first year of studies in the Economics and Finance program, you’ll get a broad liberal arts education that creates a strong foundation for your future studies. During your second year, you’ll have a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of economic and statistical theory, and the opportunity to investigate a wealth of options (environmental economics, labor economics, health economics, finance, policy study, game theory, public finance and more). The Thanatology department offers a wide variety of courses, including an overview of bereavement and grief, ethical issues, palliative care, suicide, children and death, spiritual and philosophical issues, change and transition, popular culture, grief and trauma, and diversity and social justice. The undergraduate program offers a practicum course that includes a 45-hour field placement, and a grief counselling course that uses experiential learning of basic counselling skills.

In the Department of Sociology, we engage with the pressing social issues of our time. Criminology is a subfield of Sociology, and is the study of legal and extra-legal sanctions, including their effects on individuals, the police, corrections, the judiciary, the state, and social and governmental reactions to it.
