Introduction
In Klanglabor the KHM is a project-oriented sound practice combines with current sound discourses in the form of seminars, lectures, practical exercises or work presentations.
As interdisciplinary and modular organized place the sound laboratory provides both space for the development of artistic projects sound as well as for workshops on instrument making, musical production techniques or media archaeological topics. The range of seminars offered includes sound synthesis method in hardware and software (programming), the use of sensors, interface and app development, Radio Arts / Ars Acustica, Field Recording / soundscape composition, text-sound composition / Poetry Sonore, and theoretical reflection of auditory culture and music and art history.
In addition, the sound lab offers with the annual basic seminar sound an introduction to the various themes for interested students that do not yet have little or no experience in dealing with sound. Moreover, curates and organizes the sound lab in the auditorium of the KHM the concert series "Nocturnes" that presents outstanding and exceptional artistic positions between music, sound art and lecture-performance in three events per semester.
