Introduction
Creative writing is the ability to generate clear, vivid, and effective communication. It is said to be one of the most flexible talents a professional can hold and considered the ultimate form of self-expression. Students will learn both technical and creative skills in writing and critical thinking.
SUNY Adirondack’s Creative Writing program begins with introductory classes in Composition and Communication, setting the stage for advanced classes that focus on technical elements of different writing genres. Through lectures, readings, writing exercises, and examining others' published works, students will study the history of literature and how it informs our world today.
