Portuguese Language and Culture Dialogo - study in Brazil

The main objective of the course is to bring students to achieve good communication skills in Portuguese, with success. This means that not only will be taught the grammar and vocabulary, but also listening, reading, writing and oral production, whether in formal or colloquial contexts. An introduction to the Brazilian way of life, customs and social mores, politics and culture is also an important part of the lessons.

Classes are divided as follows: grammatical structures (25 %), understanding and writing (25 %), comprehension and oral production (30%) and technical vocabulary (20 %). This variety makes the most dynamic and fun classes as well as being an effective way to improve and enhance language skills.

Lessons are always conducted in Portuguese, although all teachers are proficient in English and other languages. Student performance is evaluated according to the observation in the classroom as they are able to produce and understand the target language, as well as their commitment to learning and lessons.

About the Teachers

All teachers are Brazilians with a degree in Literature and Foreign Languages Vernacular. They receive special training for 4 months at the school in didactic teaching Portuguese as a foreign language (LPE). All of them speak English and some other languages like German, French, Spanish and Italian. The school also promotes an annual training program faculty through workshops and seminars.

Student Profile

In general, the school welcomes students from all over the world, and most from United States, Europe and Latin America. The reasons for learning the Portuguese language in Brazil are very varied, including professional, commercial, cultural tourism, university programs and also personal motivations.

• Classes from Monday to Friday, distributed as follows
• 9:00 to 12:30 - Small Group lessons - average 5-6 people
• 12:30 p.m. to 13:30 p.m. - Lunch time

Combos

You can also combine group lessons in the morning, 9:00 to 12:30 with 1 or 2 private lessons in the afternoon.

Private

You can also get only private lessons in the morning or afternoon.

During the afternoons – practice Portuguese using fun & intercultural approach (Brazilian cooking classes, Dancing Classes, “Capoeira” Classes, Lectures, Social activities and excursions) Programs recommended for those who want to start or need to enhance their learning of the Portuguese language, and is inserted in the Brazilian cultural context in order to purchase support for their inclusion in the local environment, minimizing potential cultural clashes. The courses proposes the development of different language skills (oral and written comprehension, oral and written production) through a communicative and dynamic approach that uses varied instructional stimuli (audiovisual, interactive activities, internet, etc.).

Once a week we choose a brazilian movie to watch in group in our school. Of course, in portuguese audio and with popcorn and soda ;)
