They work in a variety of environments including corporations, government, and other computer companies. Gateway’s IT – Web Software Developer associate degree is offered online and at our Racine Campus so you can learn when and where it’s most convenient for you.
Choose a path that fits your interests. The IT – Web Software Developer degree focuses on the programming languages deployed on the web, building dynamic websites and database driven backend principles. The IT – Web Software Developer degree with a Sharepoint Developer concentration focuses on the skills needed to develop and maintain business websites as well as design and develop collaboration applications with Microsoft SharePoint.
All Business and Information Technology associate degree programs are fully accredited and in good standing with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
Learning By Doing
The Web Software Developer program uses a hands-on approach to provide students with real-world experience and training. Course projects often include students working with area businesses and organizations, assisting them with building and updating their websites.
Students gain real-world experience by taking an IT Web Project Management class. Students can also take a web or Biz Squad internship. Biz Squad internships include Web Developer students and students from other business and IT programs working as a team to meet the needs of local businesses and organizations. The internship program provides excellent hands-on learning for students while helping local businesses and organizations at the same time.
Additional opportunities include participating in the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) student organization is highly encouraged, which provides networking, professional development, and competition opportunities, and participating in Gateway’s study abroad opportunities.
Graduation Requirements
- Minimum 64 credits with an average of 2.0 or above.
