Introduction
The Child Development Certificate program is designed to provide students with a theoretical knowledge base and practical experience, which will prepare them for employment in early childhood centres as a teacher or director (according to minimum standards for Day Care Centers, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services) as well as for other child-related occupations.
Gainful Employment
The US Department of Education requires colleges to disclose a variety of information for any financial aid eligible program that "prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation." Howard College is committed to creating an educated workforce by offering occupational programs that lead to gainful employment.
Note: A criminal background clearance and CPR/First Aid Certification is required for employment in the Child and Family Development field and are the student's responsibility.
