Associate of Science in Biology Salem University
Introduction
The Associate of Science in Biology (ASBIO) requires successful completion of 60 semester credit-hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, including at least 15 credits in the program as approved by the department.

Curriculum
Graduates will demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge and skills to develop scientific approaches to global science issues.
- Knowledge and skills to be employed in biology- and health-related fields.
- The application of scientific approaches for success in technical careers related to biology.
- Knowledge and skills to perform successfully on graduate school admissions tests.
- The ability to communicate scientific information in written, oral, and graphic scientific format.

Whether you are interested in veterinary science, exercise science, or other health science careers, earning your Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in Physiology and Exercise Science may be the first step toward achieving your goals. Salem’s program equips graduates with the scientific knowledge and skills to pursue scientific career opportunities or to advance to graduate studies. Students may pursue the degree entirely on campus in Salem, West Virginia or via a blended program where some general education courses are taken via distance education and the Biology Core and Specialization, for example, are completed in residence. Blended programs of study may be arranged with the approval of the program director.
