Salem International University’s Associate of Science in Information Technology offers you the general education and IT knowledge you need to pursue entry-level roles in the field—or preparation for a bachelor’s program. In this 20-month, 60-credit IT associate’s degree, you can learn what you need to know to carry out basic IT functions while also developing the critical thinking skills necessary to perform successfully in professional environments. We offer this program on campus in West Virginia or through convenient online learning.

New students enrolling in our 100% online or on campus associate and/or bachelor’s degree programs at Salem University who are residents of Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Virginia are now eligible for our New Student Success Grant. This opportunity will reduce your cost of attendance to just $425 per credit!
Curriculum
Salem offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study with continuous enrollment via distance education or on ground at our Salem, West Virginia campus. Courses are delivered in a monthly format (4-weeks) and completed on ground, online, or through a blended approach that uses both delivery methods. Online courses are structured to work within the constraints of full- time employment, allowing you to earn your degree with minimum disruption to your busy schedule. Traditional on ground programs of study are available for campus residents and commuter students.
Course Names
Successful completion of 60 credit-hours with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0, including at least 15 credits in the program as approved by the department

As a graduate of the IT associate’s program, you should be ready to enter the marketplace with demonstrable skills in programming, publishing, and systems and database administration. In addition, you’ll have developed your communication skills and professional self-management capabilities.
