Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) - in terms of student and staff number, quality of education and research, and its international relations - is a prestigious institution of public higher education in Hungary, operating continuously since its inception in 1635. As a top-ranked research university in Hungary, it is the most popular higher education institution among applicants as well as alma mater of five Nobel laureates and leading figures in technology, public policy, and culture in Hungary. Inter-institutional center for French studies

Based on the French-Hungarian bilateral agreement, the main goal of the Centre Interuniversitaire d’Études Francaise (CIEF) is to support the education of the French language, as well as French literature and culture. Its library of pedagogical methodology material is unique in Hungary.

EIT ICT Labs

This MA and Ph.D. program in Information and Communication Technologies is based on the cooperation between European universities and companies and has Budapest as its only base within the central and eastern European regions. ELTE is the leader of the Budapest Associate Partner Group.

Summer universities

The ELTE Hungarian Summer University of the Carpathian Basin offers the youth of Hungarian minorities in neighboring countries the opportunity to expand their scientific knowledge in a specific area of their respective fields: the popular program has more than 150 participants each year.
